Question Lights

I have been reading up and planning my home studio, and the post about lighting color jogged me to thinking that I haven't considered what sort of lights I want. Flourescents? Will they cause noise? I want something efficient.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Seriously, guys, I've not seen this talked about anywhere. What do y'all have for lights in your studios?

I have recessed cans with Sylvania Capsylite PAR 30 bulbs, controlled by Lutron four-scene dimmers. Like the entire installation, they're on isolated, dedicated-transformer power. They were installed by a top studio electrician in my area - everything is DEAD quiet, no interferance whatsoever.

In the control room, I also have a 4-foot American DJ black light. It's on the house circuit, separate from the studio.

We also have lamp halogens with dimmers, and they are all connected to a different circuit to avoid any buzz from the dimmers. We always run our lights on a separate circuit from our sound plugs-- both in our live events and in our home studio.

Thanks much! since I'll be rewiring the room, it'll be no sweat to run seperate circuits for the lights.

Thanks again!
