24-30" LCD and Midfield Monitoring?

Just moved to a new space and would like to push my studio monitors back from the desk some -- the issue is I'm thinking about getting a large LCD soon and I'm worried it might degrade the soundfield. Anyone had a similar problem? Is it always better to have the LCD behind the monitors?

As long as the LCD is well out of the way of the direct path of sound from the speakers to your ears you should be okay. It really depends on how far apart the speakers are. The farther apart the speakers are, the farther forward the LCD can be.

The goal is an equal triangle. See this:

Hi Ethan,

I've read this page before but other than discussing the equal lateral triangle I don't remember reading about what is a good L-R width for proper imaging. Thanks.

The space between the speakers depends on how far away they are from you. If you look at the page above you'll see the speakers can be moved along both axes. So no matter where they, you always have an equal triangle.
