"Bedroom" set up help

Ive just moved into a new house and am having a "proper" vocal booth built soon (when money and time permits but soon). In the mean time I need a "bedroom" type solution to track vocals.

What I have in mind is treating one corner of the room and placing a mic and the sE Reflection Filter (or similar product based on your recommendations) into that corner so the vocalist has his/her back to the treated wall.

Yay? Nay? Alternatives? Dont even bother?

Thanks guys!

I'm not a fan of small vocal booths because they sound small and boxy unless they're very well treated. If you don't need the isolation of a booth, put the money into treating your room - which you need anyway.

I would avoid putting vocals in the corners like that. It can result in some pretty bad effects caused from the close walls. To be honest you are much better off to spend the money on treating the room, as treating the room will also help when it comes time to mix.

This room is a temporary solution, and other than what I suggested with the corner being treated that the mic and se Reflection Filter is placed I will not be treating the rest of the room as it is a waste of time and money in the long run, but thanks for your suggestion. Mixing and mastering occur elsewhere anyway so that is not a concern for THIS room.

I just need a good vocal recording environment for the time being, nothing else. So are you saying you dont suggest I put any treated wall or object behind the vocalist while they record into the mic/RF combo?

Does anybody else have anything to add specific to what I require and said?
