Thread Starter | New Room Layout... hi guys, im about to move into a new space... ive attached a pic of the room its basically about 6m x 6m (20ft x 20ft) the black bit is a little kitchenette which i want to leave in..for coffees!! those are two big windows on the left and the door is at the bottom... its beautiful wood floors and nice brick walls (think new york loft look) how would u guys set this up? basically my setup is for writing/production/ mixing only...i may put a vocal booth in down the track... but its basically a PT rig with a couple of outboard racks/ keys/ gtrs / basses etc...i would also like to put some nice new couches in... any advice would be great as i cant decide what would be best both acoustically and aesthetically for both my self and my clients... im going for a pretty casual "production environment" thats nice and spacious to work and mix in... cheers in advance!!!  |

| Square rooms are unfortunate sonically. I might put the speakers on the bottom facing up, that at least puts the asymmetry behind the speakers. |

Thread Starter | cheers guys, yeah its a tough room with how its laid out...i will make do. i dont reaaaaally want to build a room in there as i dont think it will be a permanent move... and thanks for the link ethan. |

| Yea I would go with Ethan on that set up also. The key is going to be treating the room with enough bass trapping and panels for the early reflection points in the room. See the following page to give you a few ideas on the best way to sep treatment. GIK Acoustics: Room Setup Glenn
