Roxul inside framing

Hello,
I'm building a mainly synth-based home studio in my basement. The room is 12' x 24' and I just finished placing R-19 insulation all over (four walls and ceiling)

Three of the walls are cinder blocks (side of the house)

One wall is typical partition (2" x 4" frame, drywall on other side)

The ceiling is pretty much open to upstairs' wood floor (just a thin plank surface)

Question: I would like to add additional Roxul material to the ceiling, and the partition.

Do I need to install Roxul on the three cinder block walls as well, or it's not needed since it's already such a dense material?

Thank you

Yes, you need bass trapping in as many corners as possible, and yet more on the cinder block walls won't hurt either.

Ethan, thank you for your response -

I miswrote - I have not completed the room yet - I am still at the framing stage (no drywall up yet) -

What I'm wondering is if I should add Roxul to the inside of the framing on all four walls and celing, or only to the inside of the "light" partition and the ceiling -

Once I'm done with the framing I'll cover everything up with drywall and then I will start adding the exterior sound treatment - bass traps, acoustical panels etc. - but for now I'm still dealing with the "inside", the shell of the room...

I wouldn't waste the money by putting roxul/703, etc on the inside of the walls. Just use the regular pink stuff in there. Double or triple up on the drywall and then treat with the ridgid insulation using something in as many corners as possible and if you're mixing in the room, there are a few trouble areas that need a panel or two. Stop there and listen to the room. If you need more, continue.

Thank you. Yes, I also thought about installing a double layer of drywall instead - maybe adding Green Glue between them?

And if I install a double layer on the ceiling as well, would it pose a risk of falling? I'm not super super handy and this is my first basement renovation project. Those sheets of 4' x 8' drywall are heavy... Have you guys installed double drywall in the ceiling, or only on the vertical walls?

I've got three layers of 5/8" drywall on my walls and two layers of 1/2" on the ceiling. But, I can't speak for the construction at your place. I told my crew that did my framing that I was going to put this up, so I'm guessing they beefed up just a tad. I'm not sure as I didn't do that portion. I'm sure there are contractors that could speak to the actual weight load of the ceiling structures.

Drywall work is no fun if you've never done it before, or if you don't at least have a friend to come over to help out a bit that has some experience. In my modest 21x16 room...with storage room of 21x4...I used around 100 sheets. That's a lot of mudding and taping for a beginner. The good news is on the last layer, even if you're a beginner, you'll be doing it like a pro.

Before you go much further in your construction, I'd suggest you get the books by Alton and Rod. You'll find everything you need in them to do it correctly.
