Bathroom door in the back wall.

Hi,

I have my studio in a finished basement. There is a small bathroom 12 feet or so behind my mix desk on the back wall. It has a basin, toilet shower and musician's friend catalogs . I've always looked at that space, with it's tiled floor and thought I could serve me acousticly somehow. But it's a reflective bathroom as most are, so when mixing I open the bathroom door a bit to crate a bit of non-parallel surface behind me hoping that what goes in there stays in there and does not cause me issues or at least bounces off the door back at me in a different direction. Wishfull thinking at best I suppose.

I don't use the shower except to wash my muddy buddy dog once in a while.

Is there anything I might to to make the space be to my advantage other than:

Thanks in advance
:Ron

Can you hear any difference when the door is open? If not then turning it into some kind of bass trap is not going to help you out all that much. You are better to focus on the rest of the room..

I think the best use of such a space is for a guitar amp and a microphone or two. :-)

Yea for a track here and there it can give a cool effect.. Like I always have said, the room gives the biggest effect of the recorded sound.
