Songwriting for games (pricing?)

What's the basic recording rate, per minuet, for computer game music? I have been asked to create 15 minuets worth for an indi game and want to give them a fair price. I don't want to charge too much or too little from not knowing. What's reasonable?

Maybe try posting this in the 'music business' sub-forum under 'so much gear, so little time'. I think it depends on the budget of the project. A lot of indie games are sold on Steam for $1.99. They probably don't have a music budget exceeding $100. Determine how bad you want to do the project, how important is it for your portfolio/experience, and then charge them what you think your time is worth.

You might want to get a feel for the general budget of the game before naming a price; unless you have a reputation and people are coming to you specifically, gotta remember to stay flexible. My friend composed for an entire Vietnam War documentary for nothing!
