Songwriter - New 1st Mix by TKeefe on SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds
After all this songwriter talk, I wrote a 60/70's song "Songwriter". Just finished the basic tracks and this is the first mix. It's getting tougher to play all the instruments, engineer, and be the critic all at once. In my next life, I'm going to "befriend" a really great singer.
*****Some folks are asking how I got the sound. Home studio:
Did it quickly, no patience anymore, a couple takes.
Cubase Elements 7.05 (nice uncomplicated DAW)
Blue Rocket w/B6 capsule (great bass and top end cap) EZDrummer 2
(love this software, easy to use, top quality samples)
Yamaha MOXF8 - organ, vocal pad, acoustic guitar, bass.
Plugins: Slate VCC
, Waves Tune
, Steinberg Stereo, VahallaVintage Reverb
Ran at 96K/24bit - on smaller, quieter mixes I can hear the difference. It's a shine the 96K puts on the vocal and helps the reverb.
Normally, I just run 44 or 48.
Thanks for all the emails.
