Bass mixing

Hi everyone!
When I am listening some commercial cds I can tell that the bass guitar is placed dead center.
When I am listening my mixes eventhought I place the bass (mono)dead center without any fx I have the impression that it spreads to the left and right channel.tutt
It doesn't feel tight and focus in the middle!

Any suggestions please?

Thank you all
