Brick/Ditto vs Reddi for Bass

After searching the forum extensively, it appears to me that the mayority really likes A-Designs Reddi if it's about a warm colored DI sound.
Is the Groove Tubes Brick (or Ditto) in the same ballpark? Over here a Reddi is about 800.- EURO ($1050.-) and a Brick is at 400.- EURO ($520.-) - Is a Reddi worth the difference?
The Bass is a Rickenbacker 4001 and I am looking for a british-kind-of-franz-ferdinand-sound.
Please don't shoot me for posting the 1000000000-which-is-the-best-DI thread

I've used the Brick and the RedDI....no--not the same ballpark, IMO.

They're both thick old school sounding DIs...but, the RedDI is, IMO, wholely a better piece.

The RedDI isn't my fave bass DI, actually...I simulataneously cut some tracks with the RedDI and the U5, and come mix time, used the U5 tracks in all cases. Great River's ME1-nv is killer for that fat tranny sound...UA 610 is a kinda cool compromise--deeper than the RedDI, but still a bit throaty.

I personally think the RedDI is a little overpriced...but, it is top of the class for THAT bassDI sound, if that's your preference.

The REDDI rules. Every bassist I've worked with since aquiring mine always asks, "Is that just the DI I'm hearing? WOW!"
