MXR Stereo Chorus--That's the one!

I really like a chorus effect on guitars. After trying out many, I ended up going for an old Japanese CE-2. I found it to be a bit thin--good at times, but not the syrupy thickness that I wanted.
I tried others, including the Analogman Bichorus, Electroharmonix, Line 6, other Boss, etc.
All of them introduced some noise (when using on bright settings).
I ended up giving another a try--the MXR Stereo Chorus (M-134). I am extremely pleased with this one. I don't believe it is true bypass, but you wouldn't know it. You cannot tell you have switched it on (no noise). Thick or thin chorus. Stereo output. Good mod options. This is the chorus pedal I have been looking for.
Try it out if you're looking for a good one. The price was not too bad--$159.

If you are talking about the yellow ones that are AC powered they ARE quite good.

For one think the phase of the output is not inverted which means that they don't sound bad when a mix is put in mono.
They will also work quite happily with a +4 signal!

For syrupy thick chorus, the Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus is amazing. It is true bypass, but mono output.

Good to know!

I've been looking into the MXR stereo chorus to go with my synths. Now I really want to try it.

That's the one Jamie West-Oram has used when I've mixed The Fixx live. Best sounding chorus for guitar I've ever heard. Jamie's playing doesn't hurt either.

That's cool that you like that one. It's a subtle chorus, I played that one and the vodoo labs, they were both nice sounding, but liked the EH small clone more, and the EH DMM has a cool sound too. Those are my favorites, and also this 80's purple boss flanger i use has a killer chorus for that Cocteau Twins/ The Smiths sound. Man, chorus pedals are an infatuation for me, something about them. The mXR has something about it though, and chorus pedals are all about the guitar and amp you provide for them, they sound completley different through setups. congrats!
