Import Duty from Canada to US

Does anyone know what the duty would be to import a processor from Canada to the US? Is it based on what it is worth or what? It's hard to find this information. Help!

My understanding is that it depends on the country of manufacture.
If it was made in the US, Canada or Mexico then there is no duty (NAFTA).
There are other countries that we have free-trade agreements with but
you have to know which items imported from those countries are eligible
for reduced-duty or duty-free. You should be able to get more info here:

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/duty_rates/

Duty IS based on the value of the item and an invoice should
accompany the shipment.

I really don't remember how it works, but check with UPS (u're package shattered); they have some weird thing where all you pay is an upfront specialty fee (that keeps you from dealing with customs and broker's fees), and end up getting billed for the broker fee, anyway, usually via a letter that arrives two weeks after your shipment. Hooray!
