hmm... this of course isn't a fair poll, considering the price difference between the two...

Don't worry about a poll - listen to them, choose the one that you think will be more immediately useful. The next time you have money, buy the other. This stuff IS easy - except for the getting the more money part...

| My first encounter with the Chandler comp.
Own neither. haven´t tried em except a couple of minutes with the 6176? (the preamp/1176combo). Anyway, a while ago I visited a friend during a mix session. Remember that the mix engineer turned around for the fx rack and all of a sudden something very well sounding happened. Probably had that stupid smile on my face that I always tend to have when a great musician/singer starts to do their thing when I asked him what happend, he pointed towards the Chandler and told me he used it as a sub compressor for the drums. Phat!!! I want one, but can probably not afford/justify it for a while. /Jens |

I'm definitely leaning towards the chandler, based on the compressors I already own. but I'm sort of in awe at how expensive it is. I mean, it's do-able. but I could also put a down payment on a jaguar for that kind of nickel! I guess I'd just like to see what everyone's initial reaction is. I'm sure there isn't a wrong choice. a lot different than voting for a president.

Don’t forget to factor the million’s of great records made with 1176’s into your poll. |

Two distressors?

It's basically the same as two non modded Distressors, and people buy those up like eggs and bread. I'd like to see a mono version in the future as well.
