An Unusual question... Here's an unusual question: At our studio, the buzzer at the entrance is tied to the phone line. When someone arrives at the studio, they have to call in on a keypad at the door, and a particular line on our phones rings. The catch is that the door only rings twice, so you have to answer quickly. As you'd expect, I turn the phone off during sessions, but then I can't hear the "doorbell." There are many times when I'm here by myself, particularly at night. With that said, the door line on the phone has an aux out, which is just a simple phone jack. I'd like to find some sort of simple blinking light or the like that will flash whenever the phone rings, and attach said light to the console so I can still mute the phone during sessions and monitor the door. So my question is, where do I find something like that? Any ideas?

A buddy of mine has a phone in his control room which does not ring but flashes really big to let him know of an incoming call or such. Works great for him.

My sister is deaf so at our parents house, everything that would usually make noise, (fire alarms, alarm clocks, phones, doorbell etc..) had lights on them instead. There are places around that just sell stuff for the hearing/seeing impaired. I'm sure a light up phone would be a fairly common thing in places like that. I'll do a couple searches and if I find anything cheap, I'll post back.
