So I'm thinking of biting the bullet and pulling for a better cue system in my room. Any one checked out the Furman HDS-6 or HDS-16 systems ? Do they sound OK ? The Private Q and others are a lot more expensive and require extensive multing and audio snakes but these Furman boxes dasiychain with proprietary cables or ethernet type cables. Ideas ?

I've had a Furman HDR6 in use for about two years with almost no complaints. The only problems I've had have been marathon OD sessions where I wish I had at least 10-12 inputs. I've kind of figured out different ways around it so it's never been a problem. Still, it get's plenty freakin' loud and it's easy for people to figure out what's where...I put a strip on console tape on each box and label the inputs and I also show one guy in the band how it works and he usually shows everyone else.

i've used the furmans a lot and think they are just fine. no complaints. there was a set for sale on ebay recently, you might want to check again. they were selling a set with five stations. like the post above, easy to use and work great.

I agree on the Furman system. We have 5 boxes and have had no problem in over 3 years. The velcro type mounting system that hooks onto a mic stand isn't the best though. They keep falling off when the user adjusts settings. I will have to email them sometime and see if they have developed a better sytem of mounting. Todd F.

I also like the Furman thing. Using cat v cable makes it easy to setup a "listening station" far from the control room. Mine have taken quite a bit of abuse over the years and still work fine. Plenty loud too.
