Thread Starter | Best Alternative To Waves L2 plug Sorry if this has been covered before, but I've just discovered the joys of Waves infamous WUP scam - I had to get a new computer built, only to find I can't now use a piece of software I've already paid for (the Masters Bundle). I am, frankly, in shock (is it even LEGAL?). Anyway, I only use L2 for my occasional "mastering" sessions in Samplitude, so what's the best alternative? I own a UAD card, so I'm heading towards a precision limiter, but is there anything else? Do Sonalksis do anything that will get those Nu-Metal tracks as stupid-loud as the client wants? |

| If you're using HD, I would highly suggest the Massey L2007. Many have forsaken the L2 and other waves plugs and gone to the Massey plug-ins. He's a genious in my book and charges a great price for his plug-ins. I can't live without the L2007, Tapehead and his compressor any more. They are on EVERY mix. |

(if you doubt me..cockos.com for user forum/demo etc.). a number of samp users also use rpr if you check the forum. peace and give my love to scotland. i had some lovely times there... years ago and made great friends. even tho'..lol i'm a silly englishman....lol.

| I A-B'ed the two and liked the Massey better. We were testing on an LE system.

Damn, I just realized the Sony Limiter is PT only too. That and the Massey are the best two I've used. Sorry I can't help more than that. | |

| How does wave arts stack up against them? I too am lookin for an alternative to the waves verb. My 350 dollar purchase from them was a hard drive serial... I spkoke to them last week, and they want 90 bucks, plus I have to buy a dongle for 30 bucks....No way man, I will look elsewhere. Wonder how many times the guy had heard that. I'll bet they have more hole than boat anymore. |
