OnLine Collaberation Ideas? (have composed, music sup, etc)

Not going to toot my horn too much, I suppose well connected having worked from Mind Your Music to Capitol Records Soundtracks, scored trailers, developed CD (loop stuff) for Sony, developed first Music Sup position at groove addicts (www.grooveaddicts.com, blaaah, blaah, blaah.... also same company is www.whodidthatmusic.com

Anyway, moving more into song writing, can get it in the right hands, the idea is to think of a way to upload either PT, (still need to get, but have used a HUGE TDM studio but have also seen PRO TV people use cheap mbox for foley, sound design at home, go figure) but use SX or Nuendo, or Logic for my platform of choice and the idea is...

Come up with lyrics, basic ideas, drums, bass, guitar, then upload, have perhaps real drummer take over, or lead guitarist, vocalist (I'm not too bad), then someone to mix, master,, and forward to publishers...music sups, tv/film post houses...etc.

Just burning up some ideas here.....

feel free to bounce in!

I'm looking for similar setup.

I'm mainly a songwriter also. Can play guitar (to save my life) and a little keys, but am at the stage where I'm looking for real drummer, bass, and guitar guys (or gals) to take 'demos' to a pro level.

I have discovered that the best solution out there is people who advertise their services like this. I have a small 'ftp musicians' folder in my browser which I'm collecting contacats for when I'm ready to hit some of these folks up.

Other than that, www.esession.com would be very close to what you're looking for.

There is a post about that site hear at Gearslutz.

Unfortunately the service doesn't appear to actually be 'operational' from what I've read in that post (?)

Yeah, but I have a website, so why not some type of forum where users can post mp3s and contribute (i.e., just download, then upload with password) then which ever version gets placed, the money gets split with that version?

Sounds simple and I think it should be something like this......

No cost to use, just musicians helping musicians, for example, I have great contacts, but lack in mixing perhaps, whereas there might be someone that has great mixing skills somewhere in Canada, Australia, etc.....

Simple always works, and FREE is always the way to go. (LOL).

Just some ideas.....I know there is a way to set up a forum where users can upload to a section private with password and that its set up so no spammers can join.

I suppose I can look into it more....just need to have more interested in this idea and of course, open to any other ideas.

I know there was another website that the end user either guitarist or drummer had to buy a midi device,,,,that did not seem to be a good idea. I think my idea might be a tad bit better, simpler and of course free. The only thing that would have to be figured out is a way for the user, should they be interested in a certain mp3 is to somehow upload the project file.

I have Nuendo, SX, Sonar, Logic, DP, but not everyone would have all those, and looking to get LE just for DIGI strike (drums).....as well as many plug ins....so I suppose all the VST or RTAS would have to be converted to AUDIO in the project.

But I am sure somehow together we could all work this out.

Thoughts?
