| Lives for gear | will rca to optical spdif adaptor introduce delay?
will a rca to optical spidf adaptor introduce delay? I soon will have a pc based daw along with my mac based one. I currently monitor thru the spdif (rca) out of an 001 into my DAC-1. Id like to bring the new DAW into the optical in of the DAC-1 but I'm not sure what interface I am going with on the new PC box. Anyway I may need to get one of those small spdif rca to spdif optical widgets to make it work. Has anyone checked to see how many samples of latency they introduce? To shuttle audio back and forth I plan on getting an interface card for the pc with 8 ch lightpipe out. So I imagine that will leave me with a rca spdif out for monitoring. To get that into my dac 1 I would need to use the spidf rca to spidf optical. |
