POLL: CAN YOU TELL?? DID I USE SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE SAMPLES

First of all - happy holidays.

http://www.giveproductions.com/files...oel-Flint1.mp3

I'm producing this with some people from church to add vocals too shortly.

Seems to me there is a lot of discussion about hardware vs software and vice versa sounding better than one another

Vote - do you think i made this with hardware or software samples?

Samples are samples... whether they're triggered from hardware or software is kinda irrevevant, isn't it? Do you mean synthesis/physical modeling vs. samples???

i think what he means is, "do the samples come from a hardware device or are they software-based", meaning essentially: "did i use my Kurzweil or did i use Ivory for this piano sound".... so they are not the *same* samples....

correct me if i am wrong, Andrew..

In my opinion, in order for this poll to be at all useful you'd of had to taken the same midi tracks and had them trigger both hardware and software and then put them bothup and had us vote which one did which. Anybody who claims to be able to tell which is which without hearing a comparison is probably also in the market for some hi-end ac power cords.

Ah, gotcha.

Guessing there would have to be somewhat of a difference since software will never be able to completely/accurately replicate electricity running through real analog circuits. It would seem the analog stuff will add some color to the sound, right?

Agreed that without an A/B comparison it's kinda useless to poll.

Happy holidays to you and everyone!

And thanks for option number 4. I like a cut-to-the-chase kinda answer.

What an abusive waste of money. Sounds like you used the $200 Moronizer Hardware box.
