Shadow Hills Equinox! INFO

Hi! where can I get info about the Shadow Hills Equinox...eI know there is some in Vintage King...but not enough, would like more info and if is possible the manual.

I want to know more before deciding between the Neve 8816 and the Equinox..
Do they have a Website? I just found the VK.

Thanks!

I haven't used the unit itself. But I do have some of their pres and I can say that the build quality is second to none and the sound is first class.

In terms of functionality, I don't think the two units that you're comparing are particularly similar. The real question is do you want the volume and pan on every channel? If you don't, then I can't think of any reason to buy the 8816 over the Equinox.

Another big thumbsup for the Equinox! I was mixing ITB in Samplitude, and the first time I heard one of my mixes stemmed through the Equinox I was floored by the difference!

Give Peter or Ian a call - great guys to deal with (and chat to)!

Yes the design between the Equinox and the Neve 8816 are so different.

I guess would be hard to insert hardware gear using the Equinox...because of fixed panning.....also there is not auxs. I really dont need level..because i think that is just better to do it ITB....
in Equinox if I am not wrong just if everything comes panned L-R so in order to insert o use for Ex: a compressor u have to put the vocal in C of the output 5-6 for ex. means u have to use a stereo gear to process a mono signal.....

That's what I like about the 8816. t he panning and Auxs...also the VU

but soundwise I think Equinox give you more flexibility and well...may sound better? and have to great pre amps.

how is the deal with the VU in equinox? they say they have one..I see just a green light there....

any turnaround for my personal panning limitation in Equinox??

Thanks

2 options on how to do it. One as you described, eats up 2 channels of outboard. Or you can put your compressor in as an insert on the vocal cahnnel and then send it to a free pair of outs. Costs you 3 outs that way, but only one compressor.

3 sounds are indespensible

The green eye tubes look cool, but they are useless as far as metering

any turnaround for my personal panning limitation in Equinox??

Buy the Hyperion when it comes out

Thanks
Good luck deciding

Basically a 16x2 mixer that runs in conjunction with the Equinox giving you pan control and mono capabilities.
I am sure with Peter being involoved other uses will be added, he is a maniac!

A 16x2 mixer ? that's great, I thought it was only a 8x2 mixer.
Why do you have to run it in conjunction with the Equinox ?

I think you guys are right....8x2, I stand corrected.
Not sure of price, but yea it is supposed to interface nicely with the Equinox.

I wonder if the Hyperion will have transformer outputs on every channel (like the Phoenix N8); switchable like the Gama 8 would also be a plus. Then it would essentially be a line version of the Gama 8, with mixing facilities also. But I still can't get my head around how it would interface with the Equinox. I guess we'll just have to wait.

Yeah! I think I will get the Equinox and later get the Hyperion.....
But don't you think would be more logical to have at least 16 channels and would be great 8 busses instead of 4????
...really 8 channels sounds a bit too little .....considering that the Equinox is 32 inputs...and 8 is not quiet enough......and i guess would not be cheap either........so make your numbers..1 Equinox and 2 Hyperion for 16 channels..must be pricey the package!!
Would be great if Equinox owners can suggest at least 16 channels, 8 inputs and a couple of Aux...then a nice VU would be awesome..then I think everybody would pay a bit more to have all these features..... also the possibility of insert points in each channel and a stereo insert would be great!!

Thanks!

I think would be posible to interface through the current inputs on Equinox.....this is why i think Hyperion could controlmore than 8 channels(actually 32)!
But again would be great to see if they can do something to control at least 16 channels.....that would be pure genious!
