ADAM A7+Sub8 or ADAM P11A need help

My budget only can afford A7+Sub8 or P11A.
My mainwork on Hip-Hop, Neo Soul , Acid Jazz, DownTempo, House.
Room Size around 12ft x 11ft.
Is A7 loud enough for my room?
Detail and Translet MUCH different between A7 and P11A?
or I should go P11A first then maybe get the Sub8 in the future?

I can't try ADAM in my country, so.. Need lots advice

Thanks for all you help

Thanks Thanks Thanks

where are you located?

depends.. if you have lost your hearing already, A7 cant do it. one guy, bobby, is working on his hiphop stuff in a local studio, mostly in the morning when nobody is there. he crancs Genelec 1037 to the max in a room, maybe double as big as yours..

now go.. imagine.

:D

I got a pair of A7´s here.
I connected them directly to my DAW, because I`m still waiting for my monitor
controller. I can tell you that they are very loud, so loud that I had to turn all my
DAW-internal volume levels down to a minimum (damn I need this controller ),
because the volume control on the A7´s isn´t very precise at its lower end.

I`m into hip hop too, but I must say that I`m not really cranking up the volume
very often - I like my hearing and would like to keep it
My room is about 23 m².

I don´t got a sub yet, and I never heard the P11A, but in my opinion the A7´s
sound very very good- better than all other monitors I tested in this price range.

Hope this helps, LZA

Never heard the Sub8 but the P11As are great, definately more detail and very accurate low-mid and bass response (did an A/B comparison against the A7). And they sound more natural to me than any genelec (e.g. 8040) in that price range btw.

But I prefer non-sub-systems in general (don't need Sub-Bass for my mixes though I am a bass player myself).

Cool~
Thanks BuzzJoe

So, You think P11A is low enough for Electronic, Hip-Hop music for Mixing?

Thanks again

BuzzJoe , one thing I don't understand
A7 Freq.response 46Hz - 35 kHz
P11A Freq.response 48Hz - 35kHz

Seems A7 can go Lower than P11A .. ?

Thanks

Going to listen to A7 next weekend in local musikc store and them probably will take them home to be sure I like every cent that I'm gonna pay for them.Basically I want to A/B them with Mackie HR824,as those are like well known "world standart"(which ofcourse not,but still I see those Mackie in MOST studious all around the world).
Regarding those freqs...first of all I don't really trust those numbers given by a MANUFACTURER.I trust my ears, and if they say it is low enough then it is low enough for me.But I think you should look careful at those +/- db numbers near freq response.i think that P11A will have less to cut or boost certain freqs as they semms to be more expensive then A7.By the end of the day I'd recommend maybe spend some money on a trip to some place where you can actually compare all them.Maybe this place isn't that far away as you might think.
Cheers

Hrm.. ok..those it goes to 47hz or 45 doesnt matter..

it's how they handle those frequencies, not just putting them out of the speaker.

because there is a thing known as physics, its not possible to reproduce those "deep" tones via small monitors.

normal subs have the crossover at 80Hz and go up to 120 (eleven:D).

cheers

To my ears the bass sounds fuller via the P11As. But in the shop I just listened to pop, jazz and country (e.g. latest alison krauss) so I couldn't evaluate its sub bass power.
If I had 1400 € for a new pair of monitors it would be definately the P11As (at the moment I use a pair of yamaha hs80m, only 500 € a pair but very good for the money).
