Thread Starter
another bass trapping post, sorry...

Sooo, need some more bass trapping, more than my under-utilized upright begging for attention sitting in the corner...

Ceiling based traps: I have a 5' by 3.5' aprox skylight area, tapering upwards, in the far end of my room. Would it be useful to try to utilize this area for bass trapping? Some spaced hangers or something? I can trap only a couple of corners as is.

Should I look at the skylight area?

Regards,

jhg

ps: room somewhere around 15' x 25', hardwood floor, panels, some foam, rugs distributed throughout.

The best place for bass traps is in the corners. So leave the skylights and focus on the corners where the walls and ceiling meet.

As Ethan said bass trapping is always better in the corners of the room. If you do run out of corners you can space a 4" panel off the wall 4" which will help with bass trapping, but nothing like it does in the corners. Take a look at our test data and real traps data on our websites and you will see the difference between wall mounting and corner mounting of bass traps.
