What's the skinny on Hill audio?

I'm looking at a Hill "Remix" console but can't find any info on this board or the company. Can anyone shed some light? Any info would be helpful at this point.

Thanks

Jon

The first 16 track board I ever owned was a Hill Audio.
I think it was from England.
It was pretty cheap as I recall (price).
I used it for live work.
I got it from Leo's Audio in Oakland, Ca.
about 18 or 20 years ago.
I don't know if it's the same "Hill"

Must be the same outfit. There is a reference to England printed on the console. How did you like the Hill? I think the company must be history. It looks to be in good condition, but I guess maybe it's not a good avenue to persue if nobody's got anything positive to say about it.
I thought maybe it could be one of those "very cool if you can find 'em" things. I'm using an A&H GS3 at the moment, but it needs some work done to it, and I thought maybe I'd just replace it with something a bit more "uptown" (I'm pretty happy with the GS3, but it's starting to show it's age).

I used that board once.
I was set up in the park and a bunch of casino acts came
down to play for the 4th of july.
A guy offered me a bunch of money for the complete sound
system and I sold it.

He thought it sounded good.

they are great! - I work for a company called rock tech in the uk - ROCK-tech, your partners in sound... : Welcome to Rock-Tech - founded by malcolm hill, he is here all the time, we still use his Hill Concept Consoles, and M1, M5, M7 M9 boxes and M8 line array. they sound fantastic.

I worked in a studio regularly for a couple of years in the middle of the 90's and they had a large format Hill console. Something like 32 channels and 8 or 16 subs. It sounded VERY good. It was an excellent rock desk. It gave a most pleasing opaque color to mixes, slightly enlarged everything and the mix bus didn't collapse when pushed. Now... if I could only remember it's name

Still have a Hill B3 from the 80's

I bought a Hill B3 24x4x2 back in the late 80's when working with a band in Chicago. It worked well for us and I still have it and the manual. Used it in 2007 and still sounded good. Considering selling, but from the sound of things the market does not look very good.

Re: B3 desk

Hi fmvinny

I think I have a B3 16x8x2? Although only the power supply has any markings that indicate B3. What are the chances you could share the manual somehow. Can it be scanned in? Im sure alot of it applies to my desk as well.

Thanks!!
John
