What is your monitoring chain ?

Hello guys,

Ok this is a frenchy newbie question. I have quiet good ears and gear, but what I need now is technic.
My problem is that I can't make singer hear themselves in the mic, I don't hear my acoustic guitar either when recording. Playback is always too loud comparing to the source through the microphone. this led me to think I have a monitoring problem.
There is no recording room, all is in the same place...

Here is my monitoring chain:

U87 -> Aurora GTQ-2 -> UA 1176 -> RME ADI 2 -> Logic pro -> ADI-2 (logic output goes to converter in order to hear the playback, not the mic: I don't use DAW monitoring because of latency) -> Mackie 1402 -> Genelec 1031

The headphones are plugged directly to the ADI converter to hear both DAW playback and the mic.
The ADI volume button works on both logic playback and mic levels. This way I can't increase mic and DAW volume separatly, then I get a "I can't hear myself" singer request. And I don't want to add gain on the GTQ-2 pre to keep my headroom level ( Goeff T. taught me that ! )

I also tried a Y cable on the preamp output to hear the mic through the mixer->Headphone (one cable going to the ADI converter for recording, the other to the mackie mixer for monitoring).

Is my actual monitoring chain good ? do I need to buy something like a "Dangerous Monitor" http://www.dangerousmusic.com/stsr.html ? I also would like to add a reverb on the microphone sound for the singer comfort, but not on recording, is it possible ? (i plan to buy a 8 channels converter)

What is your own chain ? I need your advices...

Thx a lot !
