| using non-matched pairs I have one 414 B XLS and I am considering getting another one to use as a stereo pair. Good idea? Bad idea? Should I just spend a grand on a matched pair of something else? I really like the versitility of the 414. I will use them for overheads, and for XY acoustic guitar etc... Underconsideration are the KM 184 (a little over the current budget), AKG C 451 B, and the Shure KSM 141. Thanks. |

| If you are planning on buying new, then buy the 414. Test it with your setup. If there are huge problems with phasing, setereo image, etc. then take it back, and buy the matched set.
