It Dies Today - Sirens

I've been listening to this album on pureVolume.com (http://www.purevolume.com/itdiestoday) and think it sounds great! thumbsup

Does anyone know any details about the recording? The guitars have a great, unique tone and the bass is huge. Any details would be appreciated.

I have the album, it sounds awesome! Specially the bass with its distortion, it totally cut through the mix really well. Good production of the album, I love it!

They did this with great mics, preamps, compressors, rooms, players etc. Song #1 sounds really great but songs 2-4 have a small phase issue, sounds like guitar.
Again The 1st cut stands way out in front of the other ones in every kind of way...

I'm friends with the guitarist Chris Cappelli. My partner in my band (Peter Cappelli) is his cousin. We're in Syracuse, they're in Buffalo. Small world.

Where's my free copy lol

Peace

Yep I also noticed the phasing problem except on "A Constant Reminder" , other than that it sounds big and warm
Guitars sound like ribbon mic. They cut very well with tons of body, reminds me of Peavey 5150 (same attack) mixed with Recto (creamy scooped mids).
I read that GGGarth mixes amps in multiple ways.

Their guitarist told me that they used a mesa, carvin and a line 6 all mixed
together for the tone on Caitiff Choir. I'm not sure about Sirens though.
