That's the initial startup "message" that I see on mine when I turn it on - then it flips to the particular patch that was last used. Sorry I can't be of more help than that. I don't have a manual handy.

It just gets stuck there. I think that what it could be is the internal battery for the memory may be dead. and i might have to find a replacement. I wonder how hard that would be. Because int he manual it says that they should be replaced every 5 years. I'm sure this unit is older than that. Does this sound like what it could be? Do you know where i could get a battery?

I think that the battery only stores settings you create , but I could be wrong. I do know this... There are certian chips in the REV7 that ARE NOT available any longer. I can't recall the symptoms they show when one of those chips fails. If the problem involves any of those chips then it is trash or rack filler. About seven years ago I had an SPX90 that had a bad power supply. Yamaha informed me that they didn't have any more of them. I also had a REV7 that was un-repairable (it was the chips I mention.) I took the power supply from the REV7 and wedged it into the SPX90. It was essentially the same supply in both, but I had to rig up a remote on/off switch once I put it in the SPX90. The REV7 went in the dumpster! My good friend has a REV7 that is dead and he wants me to look at it. Generally when REV7s are dead they are DEAD. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Danny Brown
