Top 10 of all time.

If you're done listing the top 10 of 2003....

List your top 10 favorite records of all time -

I haven't seen a thread like that before here so I thought I would start one up.

Having a top 10 of anything limits your possibilities, IMHO.

I have a definite favorite song of all time:

"Anitina (The First Time I See She Dance)" by MARRS (it was the b-side to "Pump Up The Volume"--a unique blend of beats, dubby bass, heavy feedback guitar, and 4ADishness)

Albumwise, there's three that pretty consistently remain in consideration: Pete Rock & CL Smooth's Mecca & The Soul Brother, New Order's Power, Corruption, and Lies, and Massive Attack's Blue Lines.

Beyond that, ca depend.

Peece,

Wow, 2 votes already for Houses of the Holy, my favorite Led Zep album. I thought I was the only one. Beggars Banquet is my fave Stones too.

Lots of good ones so far. Along with The Beatles White Album, let me add...

Bob Marley -- Natty Dread, Burnin'
Jeff Beck -- Blow By Blow
John Lennon -- Plastic Ono Band
The Who -- Quadrophenia, Who's Next
Nirvana -- Nevermind
Sarah MacLachlan -- Fumbling Toward Ecstacy
Elvis Costello -- hard to choose! Imperial Bedroom? This Year's Model? My Aim is True?
Bob Dylan -- Bringing It, Blonde, 61, Tracks, Planet Waves, someone stop me....

Can't do it. I haven't yet begun!

This record just keeps on giving. Always something new to listen to that I didn't hear before and probably encompasses my whole top 10. An absolute masterpiece of depth and creativity:

NINE INCH NAILS - The Fragile

---

Also a brilliant record and a lesson in how you write a love song:

NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS - No More Shall We Part

---

A songwriter with an unmistakable voice and great lyrical stories:

TOM WAITS - Mule Variations.

Wow, Revolver seems to be a popular choice.
I think it might be Macca's favourite Beatles album too.
