Sampling help ..

Hi, if anyone could help me that would be great .. im new to sampling and am trying to sample some breaks. However loud i set my DJ Mixer (Vestax PMC 05) i cannot clip my DAW (Logic) but i can clip the meters on the mixer. Im assuming that i should therefore endeavour not to clip the DJ meter and then record that level into logic (usually around -3db)?

Also when i try to record in stereo i only get one speaker working, whereas i have two in mono, is this normal?

Is there anything else i need to do or is this ok?

Very greatful for any help..!

Thanks .. peace

What soundcard?

What outputs are you using on your mixer?

Sounds like a typical -10 vs. +4 difference. If that's the case, you need a bump box.
