Thread Starter | Converting from 48Khz to 96Khz
I was forced to record drums at 24 bit 48Khz. I would now like to record everything else at 96Khz. My question is: Is it a bad idea to convert my 48Khz drums files to 96Khz? Will it change the sound quality at all? I know downsampling has drawbacks... but what about upsampling? I'll be using Logic's sample rate converter. Other program suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Sure, you can upsample. It will likely change the sound somewhat. I've upsampled projects before and found them to change greatly - it really depends on your setup.

So, after doing some research, I'm thinking this upsampling is not a bad idea at all because 48 to 96 is exactly double. Am I wrong here?

44 to 96 is tricky, but 48 to 96 ought to be invisible. if it isn't, you need a new src. gregoire del ubk . |
