| I've had plenty of people say that power conditioning is important, but I was told that it would only apply to those systems where you use unbalanced interconnects (eg. RCA). Would I really need power conditioning in this situation: A Presonus Firebox audio interface, with Blue Tube DP mic preamp connected to the Firebox via balanced cable to the inputs at the back of the Firebox. The condensor mic I have of course uses XLR to XLR cable from the mic to the mic preamp. The balanced main 1&2 outs from the Firebox will be connected to a studio subwoofer and then balanced outputs from the subwoofer would be connected to the balanced inputs on the studio monitors. Would I still need power conditioning in this particular arrangement? I've had so many mixed messages. I just don't want to waste money unnecessarily, so I'm looking to see if I really do need power conditioning, as I've been told that balanced interconnects (Balanced TRS and XLR) would reject most noise (except for self-noise). Or is this wrong? Does this only apply to airborne electrical noise or does it apply to both powerline noise and airborne electrical interference? Any response to this question would be appreciated. Thankyou. Ben |

| Ben, > Would I still need power conditioning in this particular arrangement? < The only time a power conditioner might be useful is if you have obvious clicks and pops and buzzes etc. --Ethan
