Siemens V276 vs V276a

Hi all,
I just got my hand on a Siemens V276. Can somebody here tell me the difference between this and the V276a?

I'd e-mail Oliver Archut at TAB-Funkenwerk.

Lykke til

I think that it may be gain range.
A TFK v676 ranges from 36db to 74db.. or something along those lines.
A TFK v676a goes from 0 to 74db... I think.

I may have it backwards.

No, I think they're both 0-76 dB.

But I seem to remember that they had different frequencies on the highest setting of the HP-filter..

I've been looking at getting a pair for a while. I had some TFk V676a and liked them. Anyone know if there is a sound difference between the two? I know the TFK V676a had some sort of relays in them for remote operation that could fail at some point.

I don't know about the broadcast filter being different, but I know for a fact that Telefunken V676 does not start at zero. They both have the "line" setting, but the v676 jumps up to 34db or 36db for micrphones.
I have a pair of them... I just haven't used them in a long time.... which are for sale, btw

I assume that the Siemens and the Telefunken are pretty damn close. They usually were.

I think the 276a had a different output amp. I have had both, they sound great and very similar.

I found some pictures. I couldn't find one of the V276a, though.

Telefunken V676 : 34db - 76db in 6db steps.
Telefunken V676a : 0db - 70db in 10db steps.

Siemens V276 : 0db - 76db in seemingly random steps ranging from 6db to 10db.

HP filter : 40/80/140 for both TFK's
40/80/120 for V276

Hi everyone,

I have 276 and 276 a, on the 276 a HP filters are 40 80 140 Hz, on V276 40 80 120 Hz.
About the sound : for me, The V276 is a more fat than V276 a, The V276 is little more dynamic on the bootom end, the V276a is nore opne on the medium, V276 on kick snare V 276 a on cymbals is very great !

Cheers,

LV
