Thread Starter | UA 2192 w Fireface?
hi, i currently own a fireface and looking to purchase a 2192 for better A/D converters, better D/A monitoring and 2 buss mixdown. anyone have any success using the 2192 with a RME fireface. do you sync up the fireface to the UA clock? does the 2192 have any latency? |

I've got a FF800 and I'm thinking about this same setup. I would imagnine that you can just go SPIDIF in on the Fireface from the UA and then choose your clock setting in the FF control panel. I'm pretty sure the FF could either be the master clock or slave to the UA Anyone know for sure?

WHile I do not have teh Fireface, I do run ProTools HD and use teh 2192 for everything... it is my master clock, AD and DA. It is thicker than the 192 soundwise... it will help your FF. And yes, go in Spdif, Adat, Aes...whatever you have the 2192 will send it. -S0nguy |

instead of creating a new thread, I decided to bring this one back to life. Does anyone else have a Fireface 400/800 working with the UA 2192. If so, can you share your connections and settings on the 2192 and the FF driver?

I runned that setup. Its great. I sold the Fireface yesterday. I got a UA2192 to sell. UA2192 is a great converter, Fireface is ok for money, but UA2192 is way better. So why do i want to sell, if i liked it? I need to get 48channels out, so i need to get 2xSSL Alphalink. I wouln´d get the Fireface again, but the UA2192 will maybe come back one day. |

On certian songs I can hear a bit of distorted signal, like mixer settings were pushed too hot. It's very slight on some songs. Those with louder guitars are more prone to it. I guess it could be my source material, but I do not remember hearing it before (I have listened to the songs before on this setup). It could be my Presonus Central Station. I am wondering if I should fool more with the volume settings in the RME internal mixer?

I was going through some old threads and have since changed my id from smoore98 to sidestepstudios. This problem I described in March turned out to be a hardware issue that needed to be repaired by Universal Audio - so it wasn't something I was doing wrong. And that makes me happy.
