Uilleann Pipes player ?

Anyone know a good Uillean Pipes player ?? Anywhere in the world is fine, as long as they have access to a studio, but they must have a flair for crossover rather than just knowing traditional Celtic stuff.

I met a couple of young pipers in Athboy (Meath), Ireland last week.
They were at such a high level that now I'm reluctant to call myself a musician...
..playing Stones with two drones and pentatonic overdrive on top while doing a half set (dance) at the same time. Amazing.

Amazing.

Troy Donockley - http://www.troydonockley.co.uk/

You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone better and with a wider musical knowledge - a great guitarist too and much more.

there's an amazing all around wind player, Matt Darriau

he plays with many exciting, innovative, traditional and eclectic groups in NY,
including the Klezmatics, Whirligig, etc.

he played lots of different wind instruments for
one of my world projects, Wired Planet.

here he is:

he is truly an amazing musician, and wonderful human being
to work with in the studio. the consumate pro with a DEEEEP vibe.

if you end up calling Matt, tell him I say hi.

good luck.

Davy Spillane is my first choice, no doubt, but I don't know if I'll be able to offer him the kind of rate he's used to getting ...
