My console oscillator, but if you need a hand held thingy, I see these things on ebay all the time called "pink sticks". I was thinking of gettting one for recoring impulses.

Decent pink noise requires a decent algorithm. As no pink noise is truly "random", it's important to get one that is awfully close.

+1 for the Neutrik Minirator. Really good quality pink, and a bunch of other excellent sources. Roadworthy to boot.

i bought a technics SH-8055 graphic eq w/ spectrum analyzer from ebay for $85. it has a built-in pink noise generator and came with a decent microphone. it's the only home stereo graphic eq with the light show that i've seen that actually provides the noise gen. and mic inputs to make the spectrum analyzer good for something other than "wow man" lighting effects.

$85, and it does hella nice things to audio that's passed thru it (i have the i/o on my patchbay for use as an inline effect for synths, etc.). now that's a bargain!

Um, War-
how do you get your wife to provide pink noise with the proper scaling, and not just have white noise (equal energy per frequency, instead of per octave)?
