If you want top 10 billboard sound: 1) Sell everything 2) Book time in a great studio with talented engineer with whatever funds you get from the sale. 3) Thank me later. |

Besides the gear it could be the room you are recording in or the arrangement of the song or its in the wrong key or the headphone mix sucks. My suggestion of going into a great studio with a talented engineer can help eliminate most of the variables.

It sounds like with a good mix of the vocal and maybe a couple of retakes to fix a couple of the pitch things(if you are not into the autotune thing) you can salvage the performance(and remember i am going by an MP3). One thing its definitely not the arrangement and the song sounds like its in your vocal range. I don' think muddiness is the problem. Its sounds a little too processed but that maybe because its muddy to begin with? These kinds of things are hard to tell.
