job opportunities in NY

Hi everybody,
my name is Mattia Sartori, I am an Audio Engineer who has worked at Mayfair Studios (London UK) as maintenance engineer for the past 2 years.
I do have a Degree in Electronic (gathered in Italy, the Country where I come from) and I have studied at SAE in London, from were I graduated in November 2004.

now, my question is pretty easy:
I am trying to understand what job opportunities there are in New York for a technical person like me,as I am IN LOVE with united states and would like to move there...

anyone that could give me their opinion, will be very well accepted.
many thanks in advance,
Mattia.

I don't know. As a freelance tech, maybe decent.

I ask Glenn Coleman of Colemane Audio, Jeff DelBello fo DB Technologies and Hillary Johnson(.com).
