Hardware Fruityloops!

...my ultimate dream as a gearslut the past 2 years is a hardware version of FL. Something modest...not an MPC 4000 kinda beast...something designed specifically for drum-programming.

It would:
- be the size of an MPC2000
- no need for pads or they can be externally an option (like the akai one)
- have an 8 channel step-sequencer ala FL with lights (to show you where the trigger is). Obviously when 8 channels are up you begin a new 8- channel pack or you can nudge down and up one by one...
- read samples directly from its internal hard drive and also other SCSI and/or Firewire external ones.
- have 2 kinds of channels from FL: the normal "sampler" one and the "slicer" one for realtime acid like chopping ability
- have hardwar knobs for Filter ADSR and Amp ADSR besides the typical cutoff/reso ones that would be accesible per channel
- have 2 Knobs for pan and volume next to the steps...just like FL
- have also an LFO sestion also with knobs assignable per channel
- have a slider for pitch
- everything FL has per channel: Change swing, volume, pan, pitch, filter reso/cutoff per step in the channel, ability to move steps left and right as a complete package in the channel and so on...
- have standard FX like reverbs, delays, distortion, chorus, flange..
- have at least up to 4 FX per channel and the master section
- have 4 Aux sends
- have expandable analog and digital outs (16 ADAT and optional 16 AES /EBU)
- have also stereo inputs for recording samples and a basic editor
- have a large screen to browse through samples like FL and edit too

- and finally what would make it accessible compared to FL would be midi triggering, and the ability to lock to MC and SMPTE.

I stongly believe if someone would build something like that it would really fly...why companies cant see this potential?!!!!
Btw, it should be priced around 2- 3 K...

ahh...dreams...

I wonder why there is not much interest here...either you guys don't program drums a lot or you've never played around with FL to appreciate it...

Something like what I am describing above and PT would be killer.......

If only most of you could see (imagine) what I am talking about...
