Any PAiA Hot Springs Reverb users?

I was looking at this DIY spring reverb kit. http://www.paia.com/hotsprgs.htm

It was designed by Craig Anderton, looks cool. Has anybody tried it? If so, how does it sound? Thanks,

I built one when it was featured in a mag. Early '80s I think. Still have in a box somewhere.
