Neve sound in the 500 form factor

Hey-
is there any mic pre in the 500 form factor(api lunchbox) that resembles the Neve sound. i mean that low end that is so good for kick and bass. i would like to use those in a lunch box that would have different tones for different apps.
thanks
Rea.

You might consider the Shadow Hills MONO GAMA in the iron position. It's not boasting to be Neve, but it is Neve-like. Regardless, it sounds great!

i have 2 mono gamas in my lunch box, they are great mic pre's, warm & liquid'ish sound, makes the bass drum sound big, but not like Neve.

I thought the mono gamas had the same features as my GAMA 8 with the Neve "Iron" transformer. But I just saw that it doesn't.

The monos don't have iron transformers. They have Nickle Discrete and Steel.

+1. For me, the MA5 definitely has some Neve feel to to it. No DI for bass, but you couldn't go wrong putting it on kick.
