STUDIO/INSURANCE?

Hi there,
so i have some decent gear.
nothing fancy. But i tried to insure this with my "statefarm" agent...
no go.
they told me to find an Insurance Broker.
Does anyone know how/who to go to? as far as insurance policies for small/medium studios?
thank you kindly
Durv

I had to switch carriers - Allstate I belive (I will update shortly if that's wrong). For an extra $10 a month I have a "rider" that covers an additional $100k of gear as well as additional Liability coverage for my home-based small business.

really? did you tell them that it was a professional studio? my insurance won't cover equipment if used for business. bmi has an insurance broker they wanted around $600/yr to cover around $75k in equip + 1 million in liability.

Yes. But it is in my home, not a seperate business. I pay a bit over $600 a year though. Allstate was pretty expensive for the standard homeowners policy. (I think I have 500k in liability though, not 1 mil)

My old insurance company said they would not cover ANYTHING used for a business either.........
