My Boogie Mark IV is cutting out.

Hi, I know I should just take it to someone to get fixed, but my Boogie Mark IV is cutting out every once in a while. I usually have to play it for an hour or so, then all of a sudden it will get really quiet. All I have to do is switch one of the tube switches in the back to get it back to normal volume. Do I just need new tubes or is this probably something more costly.

I'd actually like to trade it straight across for a Dual Rectifier, but I need to get this problem sorted out first. Thanks!

Give mesa boogie a call - they have a very useful tech service. It it's something simple they'll tell you over the phone.

Sounds like power tubes- when was the last time you retubed it?

Thanks for the tips guys. I changes out the old 5881 power tubes and pt in some 6L6 str 440's from Mesa. The difference in sound is HUGE. It went from basically farting along... but sounding pretty good for blues and clean tones, to absolutely destroying my ears. The metal tone is really amazing now. The cleans sound better too. Still trying to get an R2 sound I'm happy with, but R1 and Lead are doing the job better than ever.

Thanks a lot guys!

Oh, and it doesn't seem to be cutting out anymore.
