its a neve with 1081 input/eq modules with 2254 compressors just above the monitor returns. Some of these consoles also have 1073 eq's on the reverb returns.

| Hi It's either a Neve 8016 (24-8-16) or an 8036 but I'm guessing more like the first. Them's not 1081's... them's 1064's which are three band EQ's based on the 1066 but in a 12" module with separate frequency and gain pots rather than dual concentrics. The fact that it has 1064's points more to it being an 8016. Before they came up with the fancy and confusing type numbers, this was called an S24/8. PS There's no such console as an 8035. PPS Looking at it closer, it's a custom console (around 70% of the consoles were custom), that's based on an 8016. The monitor facilities panel is wrong for an 8016. It looks like someone added an 8T monitor matrix panel to the right of the (hernia to lift out) one piece 16T panel. Re the comment about 1073's... these consoles don't have room for any correction units.... the 8028/38/48 bigger siblings had room for effects units like 2065, 2074, 2257, etc., but they would have been unity gain effects with no wiring for a mic. If you saw a 1073 in there, someone adapted the console to fit it... like the 8048 at Ocean studios in Burbank. http://www.oceanstudiosburbank.com/vintage%20neve.pdf

| Hi The only way to work that out is to look at the module content... 24 x 1064 24 x 1900 (full of BA283's) 24'ish x 1272 4 x 2254A Plus all the P & G faders, Sifam meters, EMT remotes, Amphenol connectors, etc. What would you cost those at? Gotta be well over $80K. |

I can't figure out who the guys in the photo are. I'm working on that moustache/comb forward look, though. It's good with a white belt. Man, LED digital watch, red terrycloth wristband... this guy's got it going on. |

I thought of that, but the place is too messy and they're drinking Tequila Sunrises around the console! ![]() Funny how it's hard to date the pic. except for the mouse and keyboard and the Nord. |

Yes, it's hard because the console was made around 1972'ish and those watches came in during the mid to late 70's which means that they let the console go to seed a bit in the 5 or so years. Look at the mixed up fader scales on the 8 bus faders... it didn't leave Neve looking like that... and the white tape on various knobs implies a tech visit was due. It's a kind of time warp... the console looks like way tatty for five years.

But my first Nokia phone in the late 80's was huge compared with that thing.... 35 years would give you 1971, a new console and I don't think LED watches existed then. The puzzle continues... perhaps it's a TV remote? What's that on top of the console at the bottom of the picture? It looks like a flat screen... and what is the Mac for? I'd put it around 25 years ago, but I still can't really figure it out.

| Hi It must be fairly recent... Macs didn't exist like that in the 70's and even the 80's were Apple 2's at first. It's newish because... 1. The console looks old 2. The Mac, the cellphone (?), the screen (?) on the meter section of the console. It's oldish because... 1. A LED digital watch? Unless.... http://www.led-watch.com/ 2. The fashions? They change all the time. I'll go for early to mid 90's? I wish the guys in the picture could tell us! |

| Geoff, I don't think the band were around until pretty recently. As for the haircuts, they don't really look like '70s cuts to me. More like '70s-by-way-of today. Kinda like how the styling in Grease looks like '50s thru '70s eyes. |

I think its a private studio mstrkrft is a new project from one of the guys in DFA 1979 and a buddy. they do remixes for other awesome indie artists, mostly canadian. The fashion a take on the whole toronto/montreal indie thing thats caught on a bit in recent years, but that dood on the right has had that look for years now. |

I see a Roland tr-909 drum machine. I see a Nord Lead 1 More analog and digital synths And I see a couple of dudes with some downright seriously 1977 Ron Guidry - New York Yankees facial hair. Very disco with a hint of SuperTramp So I'm really confused ..... Did these dudes teleport themselves and a neve console forward in time and take over a small bedroom djs room? |

Thats too bad about DFA. I didnt know that they played one of the best live sets Ive ever seen. Drumset, microphone, bass w/ a million fuzz and mod effects going through like 20 8" speakers and soooo much energy. |
