Spectrum Analizers

How anal do you get with an analiser?

Do analise from the start of a session or do you have a peak mid way through? Trust ya ears or trust the machine.

As a bass heavy kinda person I like it loud in, and after looking at my little friend I have to cut - cut- cut- db from 300hz down, as I seem to have a mountain.

I never ever use that stuff except to show it to someone.

I trust my ears I guess ....

The only thing I keep an eye on is the phase meter.

From 1 to 10 (10 being best), Spectrum Analyzers get a "10" in the "Bells & Whistles" contest. :)

Cape, why not check some of your favorite tunes through the analyzer and see how the audio spectrum looks to you.
A nice, big mountain of bass can be a good thing most of the time. grggt
A totally flat response is no fun, unless you're really looking for that kind of sound.

I use Waves PAZ in PT. I only have the RTAS version but would love the TDM so I could see more processed audio and the master fader.

I find it helpful at times to 'see' the frequencies. I don't fully trust it though or anything visual like EQ curves, especially at the bottom and very top!

I don't use it often but it's fun!!

My eyes can join in but the ears rule.
