Thread Starter | Help - technophobe seeks information about tg12345, redd37 and Studer J37
Hi All, I'm a student in England and am trying to find out what power valves were used in the EMI redd 37, TG 12345 and Studer J37s? Can anyone help? |

hey there, on the Redd.51 they userd siemens V72s Preamps with EF804S valves in it at least thats's what the RTB says |

Well the TG12345 didn't have any power valves cause it was EMI's first transistorized desk. bernileimbrock is right that they used v72 mic preamps and the v72 circuit did use two EF804s valves, but I think those were only used in the earlier REDD desks (like the REDD 37). I'm fairly positive that when they designed the REDD 51 desk, they wanted to make their own mic preamp so that the entire desk would be made in England. Thus they created the REDD 47 mic preamp and used it in the REDD 51 console. |
