question about the cranesong hedd

Does the Hedd require a card interface like the Rme aes32 to get signals into and out of my PC/DAW or is it just a front end for other interfaces ? how does it connect to daw's, the manual (which i downloaded) makes it sound like the AD and DA works separately, not well if i want direct monitering, Thank you for your time.

Yes, you will have to connect to a soundcard.

You can monitor simultaneously if that's what you mean. You can use the processes on the AD or the DA (or digitally).

hey thanks ,
i love the totalmix software, so when i am overdubing i want the signal to mix with the playback tracks then output via the hedd's DA outputs, like the kind of routing you get with the rme FF 800, except that i'm usin the Hedd's AD/DA.
