Fireface 800 + onyx 800R ???
Hi everyone,

I need some feedback about this setup:

rme fireface + mackie onyx 800R

I´m looking to assemble a decent portable recording rig, to record live projects and also to be used at my project studio.
I´m interested in the rme´s converters and dsp, and makie´s pres seem to be very well built (and also have some reasonable AKM converters.)

I´m thinking if Rme multiface II + cardbus is a better option instead the Fireface when performing with my laptop pc !!?? ist´s cheaper but i loose at least one adat conection.

anyway...i would also apreciate if you can remind me of a better solution in the same price range....because "so much gear, so little time..."!!!!

another option could be waiting a little longer for the mackie 1200F release..?!

just ranting...
Yeah, that does seem like the best idea... but I for one am starting to run out of patience, so a Fireface with athe 800R might be a decent option for those of us sick of waiting.
