wiring mic pre into eq-lift ground or no?

i have a few mic pre's i had racked up previously with the output ground lifted. they worked "properly" this way. recently, i came across the matching eq's from the console, and i will be hardwiring the output of the mic pre into the input of the eq. im planning on lifting the ground of the eq output, however, going from the output of the pre to the input of the eq, what would be your best guess as to the ground? wire it, or no? thanks for your help.

Hi

As a very general rule, if you have two modules that are both grounded, the cable that connects them only needs to be terminated at one end.

You want to avoid ground currents passing along the shields of cables.
