| This should end up being one of the greatest "one liner" threads on GS. I'm going to refrain from posting my wise crack, because it would be a lie ![]() |

| 1. Wow, first try and your mix is PERFECT. Don't change a thing, no matter what anyone says! 2. Here's a shoebox full of 50's and 100's just for considering this project I'd like you to do with me. ![]() |

| First and foremost , I'd like to give a big thanks to 3rdeyeKnight and all of the staff at Knight Time Music Group. He is the true genius behind this album. I would be nothing without him. Oh, and I'd also like to say thanx to God......

| From the guitarist at the mix- "That was a great idea taking out those 15 totally extraneous guitar parts I played over the whole track and focusing on the song and the vocal. The arrangement breathes much better and the music is more dynamic without them." Like THAT'll happen....sheesh..... Not really a compliment, but from the project engineer/band member engineer giving me digital tracks to mix- "I recorded everything conservatively with decent headroom so there's no clipping. I used high quality preamps and converters and rarely compressed or EQ'd anything to tape. All the edits have been smoothed and consolidated. The tracks are all well labeled and the session has been consolidated so that all the files will show up when you open the session (GOD I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN, JUST ONCE). A few tracks we went for a vibe with FX/processing printed and the band liked it. I printed a dry version of those tracks as well, just in case. The session has location markers for all parts of the song and the song is on a grid with the click track. But don't worry, we didn't edit the performances at all, we just got them performed right going in. Here's my number if you have any questions. I'm NOT going out of town tomorrow and will be reachable at all times." "We figured working with someone like you, we'd like to pay you up front. Call it a non-refundable deposit on our part." "These songs that we just did for the nationwide toyota campaign came out so well, we'd like to give you all the publishing." "We're definitely not inviting our girlfriends/mooching loser friends to the session. We really want to focus and get some work done so we can get out of the studio at a decent hour." On the same tack...... From the idiot friend of the singer who thinks he's a hot shot producer even though he works at Starbucks, lives with his mom and calls every piece of gear in the studio a "track" (WHY is this guy at the session again?!!!!), "Yeah. You're totally right. I apologize. I should shut up and let you guys work. I respect the fact that you know what you're doing and that I'm getting in the way. In fact, I'm just gonna leave." "Thank you for not making my record as loud as Linkin Park." |
