Custom made panels

I am looking to have new front panels custom made for some modules that I have. I want the new front panels to match the original front panels (i.e. with exactly the same screening), but in a different colour. I would prefer to have the panels made from scratch than to have the originals altered. Can anyone recommend any companies to do the metal or paint work here in the UK?

i would say, using the internet, the strength of the english pound, fedex international and,
with all due respect, my attempts to accomplish various tasks in england,
in comparison to my experience here in the states, and.............someone will make it and
ship it to you from as far away as california long before you'll receive a return phone call in london........

good luck

I'm open to the idea of getting it done abroad as well. So can you recommend any companies?

i have never done this.....but i have seen various companies that do
total restorations of neves etc......i am trying to think.....email mike at
vintage king....or someone at sonic circus......obviously, the more common the
module the easier it will be to find someone who is set up to recreate the
front......conversely.....if a cad drawing....an architectural drawing of the
exact dimensions of every piece of the face existed or could be
be created......that could be used to laser
cut any metal to exactly what you need......
screening is obviously more complicated

i'd try someone who rebuilds equipment like the people i mentioned above,
but it sounds you'll be deep in cake to get exactly what you want
custom high quality screening might be like flying first class to austrailia......

does the company who made them still exist ?

be well
good luck

Yes, but they don't have enough man hours to deal with my request with all of the other work that they do, which I can totally sympathize with. After all, it is purely a matter of aesthetics at the end of the day. I openly admit to being more than a little bit OCD about the appearance of my racks.

i would find some way of paying the company for info or simply asking them
to sell you unpainted panels that they make.....having them sprayed by
some car painting company or similar facility with the same type of paint
that the company uses and then send them back to the original company
for screening......

if you pay for the parts, have your own custom color done elsewhere, and
then pay for their time, all you really need to do is find someone
in the original company that has some ocd themselves or is sympathetic......

good luck

That's a good suggestion, I hadn't really thought of that approach - I'll try contacting them again and see if they go for it.

Yeah, there are some McKeevers in my family, but it's not a particularly common name here even though this is the country where it originated.
